Send Branded, Richer Texts & Answer Them in the Same Inbox

RCS is the upgrade to texting built into iPhone and Android: your business name and logo on the message, reply buttons, and full-resolution photos. We’re building it into MessageDesk, on the same numbers, inbox, and record as your texts.

Concept, side by side: a Dispatch Line conversation in the MessageDesk inbox, where Dana sent a load card, the driver tapped Confirm, a Relay labeled it Confirmed, and the driver asked a follow-up; and the same conversation on the driver’s iPhone from Ridgeline Logistics with its logo and verified badge, the load card with Confirm and Can’t make it buttons.

What RCS adds

The texts your team already sends, made easier to trust and answer.

RCS works in the messaging app people already use, with nothing to download. Here’s where operators tell us it would help. When you join, tell us which matter most.

Know it’s really you · Home services

“Customers ignore texts from numbers they don’t recognize.”

Your business name, logo, and a verified badge show on the message.

Confirm in one tap · Clinics

“Half our confirmations come back as ‘ok’ or a thumbs up we have to read one by one.”

Reply buttons like Confirm and Reschedule come back as clear answers a Relay can label.

See the damage · Collision and restoration

“The photos customers text us are too blurry to estimate from.”

Full-resolution photos and video arrive without the compression texting adds.

Know they saw it · Dispatch

“I can’t tell if a driver read the route change or just hasn’t answered.”

Read receipts show when a message was opened.

Say it all in one message · Staffing

“Long shift details get split into three texts, out of order.”

Longer messages arrive as one message, not chopped into pieces.

Nobody gets left out · Every team

“Not every crew member has a new phone.”

Phones that can’t receive RCS get the same message as a regular text.

How we’re building it

RCS sits on top of the texting you already run.

A richer message shouldn’t mean a second system or a gap in who you can reach. These are the principles we’re building on.

Texting stays the floor

When a phone or carrier can’t receive RCS, the message goes out as a regular text. Nobody is left out.

One inbox, one record

RCS conversations come into the same shared inbox, with the same owners, labels, comments, and exportable history.

The same registration foundation

RCS for business still requires carrier registration. The registration you complete for texting is the base it builds on.

What is RCS?

RCS (Rich Communication Services) is the upgrade to SMS and MMS built into the messaging apps on iPhone and Android. It adds verified business senders, reply buttons, read receipts, and full-resolution media.

Can we send RCS from MessageDesk today?

Not yet. Today MessageDesk sends and receives SMS and MMS. RCS is in development, and the waitlist hears first when it’s ready.

When will it be ready?

We haven’t set a date. Waitlist members hear first when it’s ready to try.

Do customers need to download anything?

No. RCS works in the messaging app on their phone. iPhones on iOS 18 or later and current Android phones support it.

What happens if someone’s phone can’t receive RCS?

The message falls back to a regular text, so it still gets delivered.

Do we need to register again?

Business RCS still requires carrier registration, the same as texting. If you’ve registered with MessageDesk, that’s the foundation. We’ll share any extra steps, like brand verification, before launch.

Is RCS encrypted?

Personal RCS between iPhones and Androids is end-to-end encrypted. Business RCS isn’t, so keep sensitive details out of messages, the same as with texts.

Will it cost extra?

Pricing isn’t set yet. The waitlist hears it first.
